VACANCY DESCRIPTION

Bostonair are currently looking for a Deputy Maintenance Manager for our Part 145 Organisation. The role is located in Leipzig, Germany, however candidates will need to be flexible on travel.

 Scope of work:

To ensure Maintenance and Procedural compliance with Company, UK CAA and EASA requirements.

This will include but not be limited to the following departmental responsibilities:

  • Supporting the Maintenance Manager ensuring that Bostonair Limited Line Maintenance comply with Part 145
  • Supporting the Maintenance Manager ensuring Part M compliance as detailed by supported operator’s contracts
  • Ensure that Bostonair comply with the appropriate Health, Safety and Environmental legislation
  • Reporting all deficiencies of the above to the Maintenance Manager
  • Deputise for the Maintenance Manager
  • To ensure that technical information required by line engineers is available in a timely manner
  • To advise the Maintenance Manager of matters affecting the approval held by the company
  • To ensure proper records are maintained as required by legislation
  • To continually review Line Maintenance activities
  • Ensure that all incidents, accidents and dangerous occurrences are investigated and reported and introduce preventative measures to avoid any reoccurrence
  • To assist with the development of the organisation’s Safety Management System including control of the hazard log & risk register
  • Continuously monitor safety performance in their area of responsibility
  • Supporting the Maintenance Manager taking the necessary corrective actions required resulting from Quality Audit findings
  • Supporting the Maintenance Manager ensuring adequate facilities, manpower and equipment is available to perform the planned workload
  • Promoting Just Culture
  • Provide structured mentoring and development to the Shift Supervisors to support their career development within Bostonair
  • Ensure the Shift Supervisors and Admin Assistant have adequate support with regards to running the operation and technical support

Day to Day tasks – Specific to role:

  • Quality Control of Bostonair Limited Line Maintenance process in conjunction with the Maintenance Manager
  • Provide control and oversight of the shift roster
  • Provide guidance and structured mentoring to the Shift Supervisors and Admin Assistant
  • Provide full on call support (barring annual leave/sickness etc) to Maintenance team with regards to Regulatory and Compliance aspects
  • Spend adequate time at Bostonair Line Maintenance stations as agreed between you, the Accountable Manager and the Maintenance Manager
  • Prepare adequately for Form 4 interview with the UK CAA or other National Competent Authority as required
  • Attend/participate in Bostonair meeting structure as required by the Accountable Manager
  • Support business development as required
  • Liaise with our Customers on a regular basis ensuring their requirements are adequately met

Qualifications – Preferable:

  • Degree educated

Skills/Characteristics:

  • Good written & verbal communication skills in English
  • Computer literate with extensive MS Powerpoint, Excel and Word essential
  • Have the capacity to handle a stressful environment and travel at short notice
  • Ability to work on own initiative while remaining part of a team
  • Strong working knowledge of Part 145/147/Part M/Part 66 regulations
  • Training and presentation skills would be an advantage
  • Ability to deal directly and confidently with customers/Competent Authorities

Previous Experience (Desirable):

  • Minimum 5 year’s experience in a Part 145/Part M/Regulatory environment
  • Proven track record as a licensed engineer
  • Previous Quality experience would be an advantage
